She wore contact lenses, and I noticed that she had chronically visible blood vessels in her eyes, mainly on the side toward her nose. The area was yellowed, and lumpy. Close inspection suggested that the vessels had become increasingly enlarged, numerous and tortuous, until the surface of the eye was distorted by the excess of blood vessels.
